REMEMBRANCE [1982] DVD:

A group of young recruits in the British navy are spending one last night in Portsmouth before shipping out for NATO exercises.

Mark sits in a hospital room with a comatose stranger whom he had seen viciously beaten in the street. Steve wants to raise a little hell and find some female companionship.
And Malcolm seems intent on getting as drunk as possible. Other sailors say goodbye to parents, girlfriends and wives.
