LE PETOMANE - Leonard Rossiter, Bob Todd [1979] DVD

LE PETOMANE written by Ray Galton & Alan Simpson [1979]:

The story of Monsieur Joseph Pujol, a professional farter billed as Le Pétomane who is able to orchestrate his farts to music, to the delight of his Parisian audiences.

By ingesting charcoal Pujol is able to generate the gastric gasses essential for his stage act. For years he is the Toast of Paris, but with the passing years Pujol loses his muscular control, causing his act to fail in a cacophony of flatulent explosions.

Le Petomane is a touching homage by screenwriting duo Ray Galton and Alan Simpson (Steptoe and Son) to a unique 19th century French cabaret artiste called Joseph Pujol whose claim to fame was the ability to control with great precision the expulsion of air from his elastic anus.
